Fact of Life #1
The majority of the people in the world are ignorant. There exists a handful of intelligent ones. These intelligent people spend their lives thinking of ways to attempt to save the ignorant people from destroying each other and the planet.
An attempt at consciously shocking my system, culturally. The only way there will ever be change is if we stop blaming the "other" (America, the Government, Israel, Secret Societies, McDonalds, Marilyn Manson, Lettuce, etc.) and start self reflection, awareness and improvement. This is my personal struggle to do that.
“What can my enemies possibly do to me? My paradise is in my heart; wherever I go it goes with me, inseparable from me. For me, prison is a place of (religious) retreat; execution is my opportunity for martyrdom; and exile from my town is but a chance to travel.” - Ibn Taymiyyah
"نعيب زماننا و العيب فينا و ما لزماننا عيب سوانا و نهجو ذا الزمان بغير ذنب و لو نطق الزمان لنا هجانا We blame our time though we are to blame. No fault has time but only us. We scold the time for all the shame. Did it have tongue, it would scold us" - Al Shafi'i
Government: "an institution which prevents injustice other than such as it commits itself." - Ibn Khaldun "Washing one's hands of the conflict between the powerful and the powerless means to side with the powerful, not to be neutral." – Paulo Freire
"Your silence will not protect you." - Audre Lorde
"The best jihad (struggle) is a just word before a tyrannical authority." - Muhammad (s)
"Forgive him who wrongs you; join him who cuts you off; do good to him who does evil to you, and speak the truth although it be against yourself." - Inscription on Muhammad's (s) sword
"Joy lies in the fight, in the attempt, in the suffering involved, not in the victory itself." - Gandhi
"It is beneath human dignity to lose one's individuality and become a mere cog in the machine." - Gandhi
"Enlightenment: thinking autonomously without the dictates of external authority."
"Questions open up your mind, answers close them." - Hwadu Meditation
"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace." - Jimi Hendrix
"Literacy must be one of the many means for intellectual development, but we have had in the past intellectual giants who were unlettered." - Gandhi
"Literacy is not the end of education, or even the beginning." - Gandhi
"If we are lies we shall be lies of our own making" - Tayeb Salih
